True Love - Abu Bakr(RA)

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said :

"There is no one among the people who has been more generous to me with his life and his property than Abu Bakr (RA) and if I was to take a bosom friend, I would take Abu Bakr as my bosom friend. But, the friendship of Islam is better. Block off every door in this Masjid except the door of Abu Bakr" [Sahih Al-Bukhari]

Love. What is love? Truly, what is LOVE?

It is narrated that when the disbelievers drove Prophet Muhammad (SAW) out, they threatened to kill him due to merely because of he preached; TAWHEED. To them, this sacred message was horrid and at the same time, insulting to their idols. So they sought out to kill him. Accompanied by his beloved, Abu Bakr (RA), both found refuge in the Cave of Thawr and thinking that there would be something that would harm the Prophet (SAW) inside, Abu Bakr As-Saddiiq said : “O Prophet, don’t enter, I will enter first.” In doing so, he found a hole in the cave and put his foot on it, closing it. He called the Prophet (SAW) to come in. When the Prophet (SAW) came in, he laid down with his head on Abu Bakr’s lap. Sooner later, a snake inside the hole began to bite the foot of Abu Bakr (RA) and his biggest fear right then was not how painful this process was, but his biggest fear was to disturb the Muhammad’s (SAW) sleep. Ensuring not to move, a river of tears came down his gentle cheeks and a warm drop dripped on the blessed face of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). It is mentioned that when our Prophet (SAW) slightly woke up, he said to Abu Bakr :

9:40
"...Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us...."
-Surah At-Tawbah, verse 40-

Abu Bakr said to the Prophet (SAW), “O Prophet of God, I am not sad, but I am in pain. A snake is biting my foot and I am worried that it might bite you. I am crying because my heart is burning for you and for your safety.” Our Prophet being pleased with what he heard, placed his hand on the foot of Abu Bakr and applied his saliva on the bitten foot.

SUBHANNALLAH! Ponder upon those words Oh Servant of God. Are we willing to give anything up for this religion? Or even for our Beloved Muhammad (SAW)? The Truthful, Abu Bakr (RA) was a true follower of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Never showing an ounce of doubt, he clenched and held on to every word that slipped out of Muhammad’s (SAW) mouth. Abu Bakr was among the first to embrace Islam and earned the title As-Saddiiq (The Truthful One)…and becoming one of the best bodyguards for our Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
